Completing Your Skill Passport

Overview

This article will guide you through completing your Skill Passport, ensuring your profile accurately represents your skills, experience, and qualifications.

Instructions

1. After creating your Skill Passport, you will be directed to the Home screen to fill out your profile.

2. To quickly populate your profile, you can upload your resume. The system will automatically extract your work experience and educational background.

Alternatively, you can manually enter your information if you prefer.

Work Experience 

If any work experience is missing or incorrect, you can edit or delete specific entries, or add additional experience as needed.

When manually entering or editing work experience, please provide the following details:

  • Employer name
  • Job title
  • Start and end dates
  • Indicate if this is your current position (Y/N)
  • Responsibilities and achievements (Providing more detail in this section will help the system recommend relevant skills for your profile)

Once you have entered all the necessary information, click "Save."

Education 

Before proceeding, you can edit, delete, or add educational entries as needed.

In the example below, the "Edit" option was selected to update the field of study and the start and end dates.

Certifications and Courses

You can also edit, delete, or add certifications and courses before continuing.

In the example provided, the "Edit" option was used to add the provider name, certificate name, and issue/expiration date.

Note: Remember to include any mandatory courses you have completed during previous employment.

Skills Selection 

1. Based on the information you provided, the system will add additional skills to your profile, categorizing them as follows:

  • Technical: Knowledge of specific tools and methodologies relevant to a particular occupation or industry
  • Fuctional: Transferable skills that can be applied across various occupations or industries
  • Soft: Skills related to communication, emotions, ethics, basic physical and cognitive abilities, and languages

Each skill is ranked using a three-point proficiency scale:

  • ENTRY LEVEL - Limited knowledge and exposure to the skill leading to a fundamental understanding
  • INTERMEDIATE - Knowledge and practice using the skill without knowing the expert concepts
  • EXPERIENCED - Expert knowledge and use of the skills and ability to assist or lead others in their application

To adjust a skill's proficiency level, select the skill and choose the appropriate option.

Personal Details 

Next, you will be prompted to provide your phone number and date of birth.

Note: While both fields are optional, we recommend adding them to complete your Skill Passport.

Adding Additional Skills 

Since skills are the primary factor in matching you with job opportunities and career paths, we recommend adding at least 30-40 skills to ensure your profile accurately represents your skillset.

Searching for a Skill: Manually enter the name of a skill into the search field, and the system will find the closest match for you to add.

Suggested Skills: Take advantage of the skills suggested by the system based on the content you provided while completing your profile.

Note: Clicking "Refresh suggestions" should update the list of recommended skills.
